It’s cold. And snowing. A lot. So, what did I do today? After having lunch and shopping for books, I went to an equal rights rally at BGSU with Dave and Joy!

I’ve never attended a rally/protest, but you know what? This is important. It’s absolutely ridiculous that only certain couples are “allowed” to get married, and I am so damn disappointed in California that I don’t even have the words.

So, I went to the Join the Impact event at BG — I know, it’s not a lot, but it’s something. And maybe someday I’ll be able to do more.

Hooray, my Band From TV CD & DVD arrived today! I knew it wouldn’t take until Monday! I already have it in iTunes, ready for my drive to Marion later. Speaking of which, I need to go buy a sweatshirt and make my costume.

oh, the whiskey

The whiskey, it’s taken control.  We got to the bar early for my coworker’s send-off, and here I am, 7 whiskey & cokes later. I feel the need to tell you this immediately. Why? I’m not sure. Perhaps because, as luck would have it, it’s the happy drunk who emerged tonight, not the angry one. Seriously, lucky for all. Everyone got a good laugh at my expense, I’m sure, but I don’t give a fuck. I needed to cut loose, and apparently this is the night for it.

I would like to state for the record that Dave was encouraging me to drink more. So, if he has to clean up after me, it’s his doing.

I’m trying to remember if I’ve ever drunkenly blogged before. It doesn’t seem like I have, but I could be wrong.

We were going to watch “The Office,” but I think maybe that’s best left for Saturday, along with “House.” Pretty sure none of it would make sense right now.

My iPod is hungry

It’s become a voracious little gadget, and I’m trying to keep it fed. My iTunes library pales in comparison to Jenn’s, but I’m working on it. Jenn’s hooking me up with some stuff Friday, and a guy at work is looking to see if he has some songs that I want. What he doesn’t have my parents do, so yay! Also, a CD that I’ve very much been looking forward to is on its way here, and I’m very excited! A DVD too, but that’s not for the iPod.

Anyway, the CD is “Hoggin’ all the Covers” by Band From TV. Never heard of them? How sad for you; they’re very good. Basically, they’re a group of actors who do covers of various songs and raise money for different charities. Go check out their Web site, then order the CD. You’ll like it.

My copy is “in transition” according to Amazon, having left the Cincinnati shipping facility early this morning. Estimated time of arrival is Monday, but I’m really hoping it doesn’t take that long. I mean geez, Cinci is only a few hours away!

A bit better

My mood has improved a little since my last few posts. Not completely, but it has improved.

So, what’s been going on around here for the last two weeks? Uh, not a whole lot. I’ve done lots of laundry, we got new windows Thursday, our furnace went out twice, iTunes is now on my laptop and I uploaded a slew of songs, Time Warner is fighting with the owner of our local Fox station and yanked the channel so we can’t watch new House episodes until eight days after they air, we got a new garbage disposal.

That’s about it. I know, exciting stuff. Oh, I went home early with a migraine on Oct. 8 and nipped one in the bud Saturday night. Hadn’t had one since December, just before my surgery. Don’t know what that’s all about. Well, actually, I have an idea, but I think we’ll just chalk it up to coincidence.

Sooooo … Friday I’m going to Columbus with Jenn to see her friend’s band perform. Our costumes, if we can pull them together will be very cute. I’m not telling you what they are though! I’ll post pictures this weekend.

And that’s about it. Pity me and my lack of Fox tonight.

On to the fun stuff

All right, this is getting out of hand. Three posts in one day? Madness. Sheer madness.

But the car rentals are reserved, the hotel room the night before I fly home is booked. The room in West Hollywood has been booked for ages. Now I can map out my time in West Hollywood!

Like having dinner with a high school classmate that Sunday. And going to see a psychic at Bodhi Tree Bookstore. And checking out the Walk of Fame. And I don’t know what else. But don’t worry, I’ll figure it out.

I really had been hoping to announce that all of my California travel plans are settled. However, I’m still figuring out the car rentals, so all you get are posts about shoes. Maybe later today I’ll be able to pop back in with an update on the travel arrangements.

Anyway, I bought these, um, the day before I bought the black heels in the previous post. I was on a boot quest that day too, which of course failed. Then I saw these and had to have them.

Went looking for boots and cute black heels last weekend. The boot quest was a bust — my calves are too fat in proportion to my tiny little feet. I couldn’t even zip most of them all the way. How ridiculous!

But I did find these black heels, so all was not lost.
